5  It is a virus that is transmitted from human to human, when coming into contact with another person’s infected bodily fluids. (This includes: blood, semen, vaginal fluids, breast milk.)

7  From having unprotected sexual contact with an infected person.  By sharing needles with an infected person  Through open wounds or orifices where a person’s contaminated fluids enters.  Least common form of transmission: (not a lifestyle choice for child) From mother to baby before, during or after birth.

9  The #1 most common way to prevent contracting an infectious disease is to practice ABSTINENCE!  Wear rubber gloves whenever cleaning up anyone’s bodily fluids (this is called taking universal precautions)treat everyone like they have a communicable disease you can catch.  Do not share needles for any reason

14 Abstinence: The conscious, active CHOICE to not participate in risky behaviors. *Think about risky behaviors, what are some things you can chose to abstain from that may improve your lifestyle?  Abstain from ALL sexual activities! ( Abstinence is the ONLY 100% effective way to assure yourself you will not contract a Sexually Transmitted Infection)  Keeping yourself healthy: › Make safe and healthy choices think of H.E.L.P. › Remember what you know/have learned in health class
