It is a virus that is transmitted from human to human, when coming into contact with another person’s infected bodily fluids. (This includes: blood, semen, vaginal fluids, breast milk.)

The #1 most common way to prevent contracting an infectious disease is to practice ABSTINENCE! Wear rubber gloves whenever cleaning up anyone’s bodily fluids (this is called taking universal precautions)treat everyone like they have a communicable disease you can catch. Do not share needles for any reason

Abstinence: The conscious, active CHOICE to not participate in risky behaviors. *Think about risky behaviors, what are some things you can chose to abstain from that may improve your lifestyle? Abstain from ALL sexual activities! ( Abstinence is the ONLY 100% effective way to assure yourself you will not contract a Sexually Transmitted Infection) Keeping yourself healthy: › Make safe and healthy choices think of H.E.L.P. › Remember what you know/have learned in health class
