2 Masters Programs in Finance Four degrees: –Master of Finance (2 years) –Master of Applied Finance (1.5 years) –Master of Financial Management (1 year) –Master of Financial Economics (2 years) 2

3 Admission Requirements Master of Finance: –Pass degree (any field) –Average of at least 65% (or equivalent) in undergraduate study –Need 60% average in first year to progress to the second –Students who do not achieve this 60% average will be transferred to the Master of Applied Finance. Master of Applied Finance: –Pass degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, statistics, actuarial studies, mathematics, business information systems, management, international business, engineering, physics, science –Average of at least 65% (or equivalent) in undergraduate study 3

Some common career paths chosen by ANU Finance graduates include: Business Analyst at an Australian/overseas bank or investment bank Graduate Analyst within the Commonwealth public service or Territory/State public service In house finance in a large number of Australian/overseas corporations Risk Analyst/Derivatives trader at an Australian/overseas bank Financial consultant at a bank or private wealth management company 7

8 Graduate Certificate in Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics Possible pathway into Master of Finance and Master of Applied Finance –(Appropriate) Units studied can be transferred to Masters as credit –Need a 60% average across all units in the Graduate Certificate to transfer to a Masters degree. 8
