16. Other styles of figures... The Harvest Figure, with its Halloween associations, allow for more experimentation and a much wider interpretation of what a figure is. The Harvest Figure also allows the idea of practicality to be abandoned in favor of impact and aesthetics.

36. What is “Kinetic” sculpture ?

44. The design problem... Create a figure, either Harvest or Scarecrow, that is well designed, unique and is expressive. You should construct with sculptural principles and theory in mind. Size, theme and materials are open to interpretation. The form should be self supporting. The piece must be “kinetic”.

45. The Grade The figures will be graded in competition and grades will be based on the following criteria… –Sound construction and craftsmanship –aesthetics and overall appearance –creative use of materials –originality of concept (in idea or execution)
