The project brings together 13 of Europe’s strongest health clusters (see map) This project aims to: Raise both quality and quantity of support services for health biotech SMEs across Europe Promote internationalization of the SMEs and of the health clusters. 6. Tools of science - Europe Objective/Description: The European Tools of Science is a web platform that provides information on facilities and services which offer SMEs access to rare technologies and competences in 13 bioregions across Europe. There are specific criteria to allow inclusion on the platform The platform not only offers information about service providers, but also informs about funding programs, interesting match-making sites and tools for more successful collaborations. Actions: BioWin has inserted 23 academic facilities and 7 industrial tools on the web platform (a few more should be added soon) Launched September 15 th, 2011. Bootcamps Objective/Description: The objective of this training is to practically help bio entrepreneurs in learning how to develop a successful business and to strengthen links between European bio entrepreneurs that will help lead to the creation of a sustainable entrepreneurial community Format: Short training session (2 days) Attendees (Max 15-20): entrepreneurs from young spin-off /start-ups* Program: existing template + help from a training coordinator Timing: 15-16 February 2012 *Attendees Entrepreneurs wishing to attend will need to have a vision for their business. The boot camps can be suitable for early stage entrepreneurs or researchers with a technology they want to exploit but at the condition of having developed an idea about its market potential.

14. Non-Executive Directors Database Objective/Description: The biggest barrier to the successful development of young companies across Europe is a skilled team and in too many biotech businesses in Europe, there is not enough experienced management.  The objective is to create a powerful tool to disseminate a database of the most active and successful Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) and pull in the specific needs of new companies across Europe.

15. IPR – Train the trainers Objective/Description: Dedicated training sessions for managers/researchers on IP related issues at different levels (basic and advance), especially with reference to “risky” countries such as India and China. Timing : tbd
