4 What is an OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Activity?  A vocational/work related qualification  2 Year Course  Study 5 Units of work  Equivalent to 1 A Level  Knowledge is EXTERNALLY assessed through a combination of examination and coursework

5 What is an OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Activity? Course Description Learners will study five units made up of mandatory and optional units. Mandatory units: Body systems and the effects of physical activity (1 hour 30 minutes external examination – 70 marks) Sports coaching and activity leadership (Course work) Sports organisation and development (1 hour external examination – 60 marks) These units will give learners an understanding of sport in the wider contexts of coaching and leadership, anatomy and physiology, the body’s short- and long-term responses to physical activity and the framework of sport in the UK and the organisations involved. Learners will also develop transferable skills such as planning, communication, adaptability and leadership. Additional units: Sports injuries and rehabilitation Sport and exercise psychology
