Practitioners will plan to meet the holistic needs and development of a child. A child who has limited communication skills may find it difficult to join in with other children and may find it hard to express their choices, feelings and emotions. They will observe children and identify any areas of development that may be delayed. Practitioners will work on a child’s strengths to support their areas for development. A child who struggles to sit still and concentrate can be encouraged to sit and sort their favourite toys such as cars or dinosaurs.
