RTI (Response to Intervention) If a student fails to pass the Math or Reading SOL, he or she will be placed in RTI 7 or 8, depending on their grade level. RTI is a support class for Reading or Math that is NOT graded. RTI is a year-long course, meeting everyday, which will take the place of a World Language or Technology

Foundations of Algebra P2 to Algebra 1: 7 th grade students currently enrolled in Foundations of Algebra P2 will move on to one of the following classes: Foundations of Algebra P3 Algebra 1 Initial 8 th grade mathematics course placement will be based upon the student meeting the following criteria: A score of 400 or better on the Math 6 SOL assessment Final course average of 80% or better in Foundations of Algebra P1 Fall Semester average of 80% or better in Foundations of Algebra P2 Foundations of Algebra part 2 teacher recommendation Final placement is contingent upon the student meeting the following: A score of 400 or better on the Math 7 SOL assessment Final course average of 80% or better in Foundations of Algebra P2

World Languages It is NOT guaranteed that a 7 th grader will get his or her first choice in a Level 1 World Language. It is required that a student write in several back-up selections for a World Language, due to heavy enrollment in certain languages. 8 th graders are guaranteed their first choice of a Level 2 language. However, 8 th graders are NOT guaranteed their first choice of a Level 1 language.

March 19 th -March 21 st 2014: Mrs. Spicer will be going through 6 th grade English classes to schedule rising 7 th graders. March 20 th -March 24 th : Mrs Knight will be going through 7 th Grade Science classes to schedule rising 8 th graders Returned registration forms will be due by 4/04/14
