2. What are Phrasal Verbs ? Phrasal verbs are two words that consist of a verb with a preposition, for example “look at”, “get up”...etc. These prepositions are sometimes called particles ( a preposition that can combine with a verb to form a phrasal verb) Look at P.184 !

5. 2- Some phrasal verbs can have a noun or pronoun between the verb and the particle. However, the following group shows that there are many verb+particle combinations in which the particle changes the meaning of the verb. The meanings of the two words together is different from the meanings of the verb and the preposition by themselves. * These verb+particle combinations have an idiomatic meaning. They are different from sentences with prepositional phrases.
