ABSOLUTE LOCATION OF CUBARELATIVE LOCATION OF CUBA Cuba’s actual location on map 21◦ 30’ N latitude, 80◦ 00’ W longitude An example of Cuba’s relative location would be that it is located South of Florida stretching to the south east.

Page One # 5 & 6 To precisely locate points on the earth's surface, degrees(°) of longitude and latitude have been divided into minutes (') and seconds ("). For ex. the U.S. Capitol is located at 38°53'23"N, 77°00'27"W (38 degrees, 53 minutes, and 23 seconds north of the equator and 77 degrees, no minutes and 27 seconds west of the meridian passing through Greenwich, England).

The Environment: the surroundings in which people, plants, and animals live. Its how people influence or change their environment, and in turn how they are influenced by their environment.

Here is a picture of a hotel Las Vegas, Nevada. You may know that Las Vegas is in the middle of a desert. How is this an example of human-environment interactions?

How do people use their environment? How have they changed it? How have people responded to these changes?

As people, goods, and ideas move from place to place, they can change a places characteristics More than just actual movement ex. –When the pilgrims moved to America in search of religious freedom they exposed the Native Americans to their culture and religious beliefs. Today their culture is the dominant one here.

A region is an area with common features that set it apart from other areas. ex - Chinatown is a region of San Francisco ex - California is in the Western United States ex - Hephzibah is in South Augusta ex - Spain is in Europe
