Location absolute location: the exact spot at which the place is found on the globe, use the grid system relative location: location in relation to other places

Location hemispheres: two halves, North and South equator: line that circles the earth midway between the North and South Poles prime meridian: line that divides earth into East and West hemispheres, runs north and south through Greenwich, England.

Longitude and Latitude Latitude: degrees north or south of the equator Longitude: degrees east or west of the Prime Meridian Example: Colorado Springs is at 38° 49' N 104° 43' W.

Place place: particular space with physical and human meaning

Region regions: areas united by specific factors factors can include vegetation, climate, language, religion, government, etc.
