INTRODUCTION Tata Steel is the most well known and dominant player in the steel industry in India. Strong B2B relationship with suppliers and business customers. A top ten global steel maker.Geographically diversified facilities – UK, The netherlands, Thailand, Singapore, China Internet penetration in India is at 10.2%(As of Dec 2011). India will have the 3 rd largest internet savvy population in the world by 2014 – Estimated to be 700 million users.

Problem statement To identify the current gap in the management architecture of Tata Steel and to use any aspect of digital technology like cloud, mobile, android, IoS etc to create an application or a platform that can be integrated with the strategic requirements of the company.

The gap Considering its size and geographic diversity,the traditional IT systems like ERP,SCM and social media platforms are not sufficient to integrate all levels of management with employees, customers, suppliers and distributors. Lack of a common platform to engage them in value creation through knowledge sharing, e- learning, technical collaboration etc

Proposal- Enterprise 2.0 Aims to help employees, customers, suppliers collaborate, share and organize information via web 2.0 technologies The use of emerging social software platforms within the company or in between the company and its suppliers or customers e.g. – use of social networking site, blogs, wikis, web applications.

Open source software as a service platform like OpenPro Customized and configured to suit the requirements of a manufacturing company Domains- Manufacturing,Financial, Distribution, System,CRM, e-commerce On the cloud- accesible to authorised stakeholders around the world

Access to business data from anywhere around the globe Open architecture-runs on most hardwares, operating system and SQL servers Online training,online manuals and online support Helps out to an extent with staff training Enhanced collaboration and knowledge sharing among employees Provides students and institutions carrying out research with a starting point as well as an insight into the industry practices

PHPKB is an existing knowledge sharing software available- existing clients- AT&T, SKYRIVER, STERIS

Implementation Roadmap Support from senior management Assigning the configuration task to IT executives Training the value chain stakeholders to use the new system

Cost estimates A number of knowledge sharing softwares available at nominal cost. To be evaluated on the core requirements of the company Support cost but can be taken care of by training the existing IT team
