The jaguar is a big yellow cat with dark spots. Its spots in the middle. This helps it not be seen when it hunts. The jaguar hunts alone and sneaks up on its pray.

The jaguar lives in the tower levels of the rain forests of central and south America. They like to live near water.

food The jaguar eats meat. It will hunt and eat many deferent things include including alligators, deer, wild pigs, foxes, frogs, birds, mice, monkeys, turtles, and snakes.

Humans can be enemies of the jaguar because they my take away its habit and use it for other things like ranches, farms and towns. Humans also hunt jaguars even it is against the law because they may become extinct.

The jaguar has a strong jaw and can bite through the skull bone of it’s prey.

The name “jaguar” comes from a South American word that means a “beast that kills its prey with one bound.”
