3 BRAINSTORMING What it is: n n Is a method to generate ideas. n n Produce list of possible solutions / answers n n Then discuss (de)merits When to use: n n Find solutions to a problem

4 BRAINSTORMING Advantage: n n High degree of participation n n Creative thinking How to use: n n Max. idea generation, no comments n n Ask individuals

5 DISCUSSION What it is: n n Exchange of ideas, opinions, knowledge n n Free exchange n n Open discussion: led by facilitator n n Group discussion: small groups, followed by presentation

6 DISCUSSION When to use: n n Analyze a situation n n Reinforce concepts n n Participants should have knowledge about subject n n Result: change in attitudes
