About Mr. Mahoney Getting married in May to a High School math teacher named Lauren Just bought a new home and it was struck by lightning! I have 4 brothers (I am the oldest) Coached for Musselman H.S. Likes to bowl and watch Football Graduated from Temple University (Philadelphia) Taught Special Education at Berkeley Heights for 2 years 3rd year teaching Second Grade at Marlowe

Flexible Seating Why? Provides students with the flexibility to find their “learning spot” Creates an environment that promotes self-learning How does it work? Students can choose to use a traditional desk, standing desk, alternative seat, or work on the carpet with a cushion and lapdesk. They will be able to freely move to open seating options throughout the day. Storage Students will have their own personal hub or crate to store their books and other items. The crates are expected to stay neat, orderly, and organized. Items such as crayons, markers, and glue are available in the community area. If students can not store their items in the crate it will be sent home or added to community area.

Classroom Supplies Required Supplies 24 #2 Pencils 3 Plastic Pocket Folders 4 Composition Notebooks 1 Pencil Bag or box Tissues ‘ Clorox Wipes These community supplies will be available. If you want your child to have separate supplies please make sure they can fit them in to their bag and crate. Scissors Glue or Glue sticks Crayons/Markers/Colored Pencils

Specials Schedule Monday: Physcial Education Tuesday: Library AND P.E. (8/22-11/17), Library (11/18-2/27), Music (2/28-6/1) Wednesday: Art Thursday: Music Friday: Computer Lab DO NOT FORGET: Walking Track or some other activity will take place each day. Wear sneakers and watch weather forecasts for appropriate dress.

Homework/Spelling Contract Each week students will have a spelling contract due on Friday (unless otherwise noted) Students have choice of activity (15 points total) Graded for completion not correctness Homework will be assigned when appropriate Homework will not be assigned just to have it. No homework besides spelling will count as a grade

BYOD- Bring Your Own Device County-Wide initiative Allows students to use their own technology within the classroom Release form is needed Cell phones are not included in the BYOD (at Marlowe) Prior notice will be provided!

Re-Teach Re-teach will take place during Walking Track Re-teach provides an opportunity for students to practice the correct behavior. For example, running in the hallway: Students will practice walking in the hallway.

Emergency Card Legibility would be much appreciated Emergency School Dismissal (the red one) Do not put “Call for directions” please In the event of an emergency, no time for calling individuals Parental Consent and Waiver Form (For Computer) BYOD Form (For bringing of device to use) Free/Reduced Lunch form (if necessary)
