2. March Madness What is it in real life? NCAA Tournament that includes the best 68 college basketball teams. This tournament is a single-elimination tournament (win or go home EVERY game). The winner of the tournament determines the National Championship The tournament is set on a bracket to decide who will play who next Total of 67 games.. each weekend eliminates 3/4ths of the teams playing until you get down to two teams

3. A few highlights from a previous tournament.. Watch the scores!! A LOT of teams will win with “buzzer beaters” in the last second of the game by only a few points. This tournament is win or go home!

4. What does this look like in our room? We are going to have a STAAR review using the bracket system. We will read STAAR practice passages and you have the opportunity to earn up to 3 points per question, in your groups you will answer the questions and you can earn the following: ★ 1 point for showing strategy use ★ 1 point for a correct answer ★ 1 point for making a “basket” (only correct answers give you a free throw) The champ in each block will go on to play on the court against the champs from the other classes outside.
