How to make a Dot Plot 1.Draw a horizontal number line 2.Determine and mark a scale of numbers below the number line—use equal intervals, if needed, but do not skip numbers/intervals. 3.Place a dot or x above the number on the number line for each number in your data set. 4.Give it a descriptive title.

Note: No y-axis Dots/marks should be the same size No key. Each “x” or dot = 1 When finished, there should be a dot/mark for each value in the data set.
