1881 - Nottingham’s first civic college Nottingham's first civic college was opened in the city centre in 1881. 1928 - The move to University Park After the First World War, the college outgrew its original building. In 1928 the College moved to what is now the main campus, University Park.

1948 – Becoming The University of Nottingham In 1948, the college became The University of Nottingham, now able to award degrees in its own name. Continued growth The University of Nottingham continued to grow and still focuses on its development. In 1970 established the UK’s first Medical School in the 20th century. In 1995 the School of Nursing was formed following the merger of the Mid-Trent College of Nursing and Midwifery.

University Park Campus University Park is The University of Nottingham’s largest campus at 300 acres. The campus is widely regarded as one of the largest and most attractive in the country.

Jubilee Campus The Jubilee Campus is a modern purpose-built campus which now extends to 65 acres. This award–winning green campus is recognized for it's innovative architecture and sustainability. An important feature of the campus is the series of lakes which as well as being home to a variety of wildlife.

King's Meadow Campus The new name for the former ITV television studio complex in Nottingham was inspired by the adjacent (毗邻的 ) King’s Meadow Nature Reserve, alongside the River Leen. It was acquired by The University of Nottingham in 2005, and has since been refurbished and extensively landscaped, with peaceful gardens and a fresh injection of year-round color and foliage. King’s Meadow Campus is home to Manuscripts and Special Collections

China Campus The university of Nottingham was the first foreign university to establish a campus in china. It located in Ningbo. The University is delighted to have been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise 2001 and the Queen's Award for Industry (International Trade) in 2006 in recognition of its innovation in establishing campuses overseas. The campus is a full and integral part of The University of Nottingham. All teaching is carried out in English and the degrees awarded are University of Nottingham degrees. A range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and opportunities are available for students wishing to study in China.
