Countess Wear Community School Safeguarding Policy Child Friendly Version Countess Wear Community School has a Safeguarding Policy for staff, families and governors. This ‘child friendly’ policy is designed for young people and this should be read as a guide to the main policy. What is it for? To help you decide what could be a ‘problem’ and where to get help and support.

Is someone hurting you? Has someone hit, punched or smacked you? Has someone hurt you in anyway? IF YOU ARE WORRIED TELL AN ADULT School staff are ready to help you. You can tell: Your teacher A teaching assistant The Head or Deputy OR Any adult that you feel comfortable talking to

Is someone bullying you? Is someone hurting you on purpose again and again, even when you have asked them to stop? Is someone saying unkind things to you even when you have asked them to stop? Has someone said something strange to you? Has someone said something to you that makes you feel uncomfortable? Have you heard or seen something that you do not like or is upsetting? Have you been given something that you are worried about? Has someone asked you if you want a tablet or pill? Has someone made you smoke a cigarette? Are you worried about something on the internet or social media? Have you seen or been asked to do something that has made you feel uncomfortable? Has anyone sent you unkind messages or threatened you? Have you seen anything that has upset or worried you? IF YOU ARE WORRIED TELL AN ADULT School staff are ready to help you. You can tell: Your teacher A teaching assistant The Head or Deputy OR Any adult that you feel comfortable talking to

If you are worried or upset about anything, talk to someone. There are many staff at school for you to talk to. They are all there to help support you.
