General Reminders from the Principal ●If you come into the building, even before school, you are required to check in at the reception Center through Lobby Guard. ●Parent Portal is available for all parents to view grades online, but you must have a password. Passwords are available in the school office.

Homework ● Students are expected to record homework in their agenda accurately each morning after unpacking. ● I will sign agendas until December, and then it will be students’ responsibility to make sure it is written down. ● Homework should take between 40 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes each night. ● Homework is to be completed with the expectation that it will be graded.

Homework ●Please make a note on math homework if your child struggled with a certain question. ●5 points will be deducted for each day homework is late. If homework is continuously late or not turned in, parents and guidance counselor/administration will be notified. ●It is the student’s responsibility to get work turned in after an absence. Please give teachers ample time for absent work to be prepared in the event of a planned absence. ●Homework is normally not given on the weekends.

Ways to help your child this year... Daily homework/study routine Multiplication facts Help with math homework by giving an example problem to model or circling which ones are wrong rather than just giving the answer Read to your children, have them read to you, and have conversations about what they’re reading Make sure they aren’t overwhelmed with outside school responsibilities As the year progresses, allow your child the opportunity to be more independent academically
