4 Steps: Step 1: Research topics that interest you. We will spend 2-3 days researching in class, the rest of the project should be completed at home. ( If you do not have access to a computer at home, you may go to the public library to use the computer or check out books. Students may come to my room in the morning, during recess, or use our library during those times). Step 2: Create your Power Point OR Poster. Title your presentation Include your Name on the front of the presentation Include at least 5 pictures Include 1-2 sentences under each picture. If you choose a Power Point, you may e-mail it or bring it on a USB drive. Step 3: Write a summary. (25 points) Title your summary Summarize the information you researched. Include an introduction, body, and conclusion paragraph. Students should include text evidence. For example: The author said,…. OR History.com explained,…. You should write a minimum of 3 paragraphs. Attach a bibliography in the correct format to your summary. Please see the attached Summary Rubric to see how I will be grading the summary. Step 4: Present your project. (36 points) The oral presentation should have a main idea and culminating theme. (For example, if you choose to discuss Schindler, then stay focused on him. Do not jump to other events). Ask 2-3 questions to the class. Answer 2-3 questions from other students. Speak in a clear audible voice. Please see the attached Oral Presentation Rubric to see how I will be grading the presentation.
