3 The Beginning: Navy property established in 1901.

BRAC 2005 LAW The Secretary of Defense recommended to the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission to realign the Naval Support Activity Base (NSA) in Algiers. This action effectively closes the Naval Support Activity. 4

5 Prior to the eventual Naval Support Activity Realignment, “Saving the Base” for development was strongly supported by the State, City and the entire Louisiana Congressional Delegation. The result was the Marine Corps Support Facility, a major post-Katrina economic development project, $150M of State funds committed to date (Mega Fund & Bonds). ADD signed a 75-year lease with the U.S. Department of Navy in September 2008. New Orleans Riverside beginnings as Federal City

7 Legislation to convey Fee Simple to ADD was signed by the President in December 2010. Fee Simple Transfer was finalized in May 2013. Excludes the Secured Area, Qtrs. A and PPV Housing Areas. ADD supports maintaining the existing footprint of the PPV Housing Areas. March 2014-ADD took control of project from NOFA & HRI/ECC. Marine Corps Support Facility: 4th Marine Division, the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing and the 4th Marine Logistics Group. Adjacent Coast Guard Sector Command.
