4. What is Moodle? Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment Modular…as in we can MOD it!

5. Caveats for your safety! Test first before deploying! Test in a sandbox with a copy of your current Moodle folder, database, and some “real” classes. If you don’t have a sandbox, at least backup your Moodle folder and database first so you can restore it if you break something!  Backup by dumping SQL database and a zip of your Moodle WWW folder!

6. Typical Modification Procedures Download the Mod from Moodle.org Reorganize the files  Into the real moodle folders, as some modders do not do this for you. Drop the files into your web folder Go to Moodle Administration Notifications  This will automatically create new tables for the Mod.
