Life is a gift from God. Life is precious. Taking the life of a child is a sin. Abortion is unacceptable in ALL situations. Children born or unborn are to be protected. The Pope has stated that abortion is wrong. If Catholics have an abortion they may be excommunicated from the church. BUT The Catholic Church says that people that have an abortion should be treated with compassion. We believe in absolute ethics. Teach that abortion is wrong in most circumstances. Believe that life should be protected. Feel that those who have had an abortion should be treated with a pastoral attitude. Feel that in the cases of: rape, if the foetus would be born with severe problems or the mothers life would be at risk if the pregnancy continued then abortion would be acceptable. We believe in situation Ethics

Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. What does it mean? How might this teaching influence a Christians attitude towards abortion? What might an Atheist say? What do I think about the passage? What question would I ask the writer?
8
Luke 12: 6-7 What do you think this means? It tells us that no matter how small or insignificant you may think you are God knows and cares for ALL of us. All life deserves respect and God has a plan for all human life.

What does it mean? How might this teaching influence a Christians attitude towards abortion? What might an Atheist say? What do I think about the passage? What question would I ask the writer? “ Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart” Jeremiah 1:5

11
God decides when life begins and ends. Murder is forbidden in the 10 Commandments, Exodus chapter 20 verse 13. It is not acceptable to take away a life God has created... It isn't acceptable to kill someone else and taking your own life is not considered a good thing. Sanctity of life Exodus 20

What does it mean? How might this teaching influence a Christians attitude towards abortion? What might an Atheist say? What do I think about the passage? What question would I ask the writer? “ Love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22: 38)
13
What do you think this means? In The Bible, Genesis 1: 27 it says, ' So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them.' Humans are the only part of God's creation described as being in the image of God. Christians don't believe we look like God. They believe being in the image of God means that we are somehow special, we have something of God's nature in us - or at least the capacity to show God's nature. Genesis 1: 27
14
1 Corinthians 3: 16-17 What do you think this means? What is the temple? It means our bodies are not ours but Gods –its it sacred as we are made in Gods image. All life is God given and precious.
15
Christians believe that God created every human to be unique. Psalm 139: 13-16 describes a very caring God 'You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous - and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.... Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.' Psalm 139
16
Christians believe all human life is sacred because: God is the giver of life. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-3 says 'There is a time for everything. A time to be born and a time to die...' Christians believe God gives and takes away life as he pleases. Christians believe God created human life and it should be preserved. Nothing is more important than the life God has given. Ecclesiastes
