4 Annual Athletic Physical and Paperwork Athletes must have an annual physical on file prior to participation All completed forms can be emailed to jlsalinas@prosper-isd.net, brought to the school office or turned in to their coach. jlsalinas@prosper-isd.net ALL PAPERWORK MUST BE COMPLETED AND TURNED IN PRIOR TO FIRST DAY OF WORKOUT!

5 Athletic Periods 7 th Team Athletics (after tryouts: volleyball & basketball) Practice before school & 1st Period 7 th Grade Offseason Athletics (all others) – 7th period 8 th Team Athletics (after tryouts: volleyball & basketball) 8th period, practice after school Exceptions: Block Schedule days Wednesday & Thursday 1 st will start practice before school and finish during the class period & 7th period will have class Wednesday 8 th period will have class Thursday

6 ❏ Academics are a priority and it is the responsibility of the athlete to stay on top of their grades. ❏ Athletes are required to report current grades from Skyward to coach once a week. ❏ If an athlete is failing at District Wide Eligibility Date they are ineligible for 3 weeks. First date is September 30th.District Wide Eligibility Date During the period of ineligibility ❏ Athlete will practice, but will not be able to participate or travel to games. ❏ Athletes may regain eligibility at the 3 week period if they are passing ALL classes. UIL No Pass – No Play

7 PISD Athletic Trainers ❏ Coaches need to be notified if an athlete is injured during practice, game, or in other activities if it will interfere athletics. ❏ Michael Henry or Sarah Hartman, PISD trainers are available before and after school for consultation and treatment for injuries. ❏ The trainers are located at the indoor facility at Prosper High School. ❏ A doctor or trainer note will be needed if the injury prevails. ❏ Injured athletes are required to be at practice and dressed out. Practices will not have to be made up if the athlete is paying attention and engaged in the practice plan. ❏ Prosper I.S.D. has a supplemental insurance policy that covers our athletes. ~Athletes/parents must file on their personal insurance before any claims will be paid by the supplemental policy provided by the district. ~THE SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE ELIMINATION OF "OUT OF POCKET” EXPENSE. If an accident occurs, see the Athletic Trainer for claim forms or additional information. Additional accident insurance is available for purchase (see the athletic trainer.)

8 PISD All Sports Pass The PISD Athletic department is proud to introduce the All Sports Pass. This pass will be valid at ALL home Middle School and High School athletic events EXCEPT VARSITY FOOTBALL. Additional information can be found on the PISD Athletic website. You can purchase the Sports Passes tonight or anytime through the athletic office.All Sports Pass Parent Sports Pass: $75.00 Student Sports Pass: $50.00

9 Parent Meetings All coaches are more than happy to meet with parents to discuss your child. Coaches will not discuss playing time or other players. Parents should encourage players to talk with coaches prior to parent meetings if your athlete has concerns. Parent meetings will be scheduled. We will not meet with a parent after the completion of a game. Parents are welcome to call/email to set up a meeting. Athletes are encouraged to attend meetings with their parents.

10 Girls Athletics Uniforms & Practice Gear School provides game uniforms & practice gear (we will wash uniforms – unless allergic) Athletes are responsible for washing their practice uniforms. They must wear them EVERYDAY to practice!!!! Volleyball will be permitted to wear black spandex inseam

11 Practice Schedule (example) 7th Grade – before school & 1 st period In season Monday, Tuesday, & Friday – 7:00 am (doors open 6:45 am) In season Wednesday 7:40 am (doors open 7:20am) Thursday (game day) – 3:25-4:00 (after school) 8th Grade – after school & 8 th period In season Monday, Tuesday, & Friday – 2:40-4:15 pm (pick up 4:15pm) In season Wednesday 3:25-4:45 pm (pick up 4:45 pm) Thursday (game day) 8 th period only

12 Lady Eagle Volleyball ★ Tryouts - August 23-26 (Tuesday-Friday) ★ Times: Tuesday 23rd 7th- 7:00-8:35 and 1:50-2:35 (if athlete is in 7th period athletics) 8th- 2:40-4:15 Wednesday 24th 7th- 7:20 Mile Run and try-outs until 9:20; 1:55-3:25 (if athlete is in 7th period athletics) 8th- 7:20 Mile Run Thursday 25th 7th- NO TRY-OUTS 8th- 1:55-4:00 Friday 26th 7th-7:00-8:35 and 1:50-2:35 (if athlete is in 7th period athletics) 8th-2:40-4:00 ★ 3 Teams (Green, Black, White) per Grade Level ○ Coaches may move players among teams throughout the season based on performance. ★ Results will be posted by student ID number on the Athletics Fusion Page by 6:00 pm on Friday August 26.

13 Cross Country -Practice: after school beginning August 29th. Practice will begin promptly at 3:30 and will end at 4:30 -Meets are on Monday evenings beginning Sept. 10th (Saturday) October 17th. -Meets start at 5:00 p.m. -Order of Events: 7th grade girls 8th grade girls 7th grade boys 8th grade boys

14 Lady Eagle Basketball ●3 Teams: Green, Black, White ●Preliminary Tryouts: Approximately 4 days ●Season Calendar Dates from November February ●Preseason: Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Plays (Offense/Defense)

15 Track ❖ 5 meets including Districts. ❖ 3 or 4 athletes per event except for long distance (up to 6) ❖ 7th and 8th grade individual teams ❖ 14 individual open events and 3 relay events ❖ Athletes are encouraged to try all 14 events to find their specialty. ❖ Athletes may enter 3 running and 2 field or vice versa per UIL. We will try to max out every athlete.

16 Lady Eagle Game Day Shirt Option Short or Long Sleeve Option (volleyball & basketball – Coaches would like to use the long sleeve option for warm-up) Everyone is invited to order – athletes, parents, siblings, etc… All sports will use the same shirt. $17.50 Short Sleeve $17.00 Long Sleeve $19.00
