First laws against Jewish people Boycott of Jewish Stores No Jewish people allowed to be Civil Servants or Doctors Most Jewish children not allowed in school Not allowed to go to the movies, theatre, or art shows Not allowed to be journalists

The Gestapo Hitler’s Secret Police; run by Heinrich Himmler They answered to no one, investigate, torture, and kill anyone. Weed out anyone that was talking out against Hitler or his regime.

Burning of the Books Nazis burned books with “unGerman” ideas; Hitler didn’t like education. Intellectuals, especially Jewish ones, fled Germany, like Albert Einstein. If you were caught thinking/preaching anti- Nazi /anti-Hitler ideas, you were prosecuted/killed. Schools breeding ground for young Nazis.

Concentration Camp Dachau Opened Break a person rebellious spirit physically/ mentally so they could reintroduce them back into society. Men were tortured to break them, sometimes they died in process Family members got a box of ashes to know their loved one was dead. Guards were trained to be purposely cruel and evil to the inmates.

Hitler’s Youth Set up like the Boy Scouts, only main purpose was to prepare boys for war, ages 10-18. Taught everything Hitler wanted them to know; hatred of Jewish people, superiority of Aryan Youth, etc.
