Family Muriel, Amelia’s sister was her partner in crime Her father, Edwin, blew the family’s money many times in life and was a heavy drinker at times Amy, her mother was very protective of her girls Amelia married George Putnam,

Flying First saw an airplane at the Iowa State Fair in 1908 She took her first flying lesson on January 3, 1921 She soon bought a plane named Beech-Nut She became the first women to fly across the Atlantic with a partner and solo

Flying Amelia broke many records, like speed, height, and distance in Her favorite plane was her Lockheed Vega.

Amelia’s Final Ride Amelia was going to ride across the continent. Amelia was last now of when she radioed in, “ Running north and south.” Then there was silence. We may never now what happened to Amelia but she vanished in between her stop to Hawaii Somebody did find a piece of wood with a goodbye letter addressed, “ To My Husband” and the signing of, “ Mrs. A.E.”
