First things first… 1.Create your account and password. Your administration may do this step for you, in which you will receive an email with login details. 2.Connect to remarktesting.gravic.com in a web browser and log in with your email address and password. 3.Take a look around to familiarize yourself with the interface. 3
4
1.To create your first class, click the New Class button on the left of the screen. Note: Your administrator may have already created your classes. 2.Give the class an easily identifiable name and ID. Remember, you can change them at any time. 3.Click the class name in the class list to get to your new class. Creating your first class… Selecting the new class button → 4
5
Class name and ID… The class name and ID help sort out the different classes, but the ID is used more commonly with importing and exporting data. It is important to have an easily recognizable class name and ID. Consider creating a naming scheme for all classes to follow. By default, the name and ID for a class are identical. This is perfectly fine, and it makes organization easier. Class names and IDs may be changed from the home page. 5
6
Adding your students… 1.Click the Create Students icon in the roster panel, or the Manage Roster button in the menu panel. 2.Type the name or ID of the students in the class, click to select them, and click Add. In the event a student is missing contact your administrator, who handles student management for the system. 3.Save and head back to the class overview. Use the same process to edit classes in the future when needed. Two buttons for managing the class → 6

Quick TestAdvanced Test A highly streamlined approach to test making. Add a set of multiple choice and subjective questions, customizing the number of questions and answer choices. A highly customizable approach to answer sheet creation. Add test sections to include multiple choice, math and subjection questions, and customize headers and footers. The two forms of test… 7
8
Quick Tests… 1.Create a name for the test. It does not have to be unique to the class, as the test may be copied to other classes. 2.Input how many multiple choice questions are on the test. 3.Select the answer choices. There are several types, including “true or false” from which to choose. Note that all questions must have the same answer choices. 4.If desired, input the number of subjective questions. Subjective questions are used to enter the points earned on handwritten responses, such as short answer and essay questions. 8
9
Quick Tests… 5.Select the Show Student ID Region checkbox if you would like to have the students fill in their ID number to identify their test. If this option is applied, additional formatting drop-down boxes appear so you can select how many digits are in the ID numbers and how to orient them. When using the Student ID region, student names are not printed on the test answer sheets. This option is great for larger class sizes. 9
10
Quick Tests… For the purposes of this guide, a test with the following options has been created: 10
11
Advanced Tests… The advanced tests option offers a host of different options to assemble your test. The following screen is what you first see when you select the advanced test option. 11
12
Advanced Tests… The advanced test creator allows you to add various sections in any order, to separate and organize test items freely. To ensure that you are on the right track, the test preview window continually updates, showing what the test will look like. 12 The advanced test editor offers all of the same functionality of the quick test editor, but it supports far more customization. It also features a new question type: math questions. These questions involve the student filling in a grid of bubbles to allow for free form number input. You can also customize how subjective (handwritten) questions are laid out.
13
Administering Tests… Once you click save, the test area appears, and a notification email is sent to you. Test pageNotification email 13
14
Administering Tests… The test page displays all of the students in the class and the answer key in a list. Printing the test produces a copy for each student, plus a blank copy for the answer key. There are two options for creating the answer key. The first option is to fill out the printed form, labeled “key”, and second option is to select the Edit Answer Key link, and fill in the bubbles online. 14
15
Administering Tests… When you are ready, click the Answer Sheets link to download the forms and print. Click the download button that comes up to go to the document viewer. Just print the tests from the document viewer and hand them out! The forms come with the students names on them (unless using a Student ID region), and a personalized QR code, which Remark recognizes upon analysis. 15
16
Administering Tests… It is possible to print the test questions along with the answer sheets by uploading a test document using the Upload Document button. Once uploaded, the test question document is saved in the application. When printing answer sheets, check the Include Test Questions Document to print the test questions with the answer sheets. 16
17
Administering Tests… You can also use Google Drive to upload your scanned tests.. PDF.JPG.TIF.PNG 17 When the test is finished, collect and scan them in any order using your MFP or desktop scanner. Remark will sort the data for you. Click the Process Tests link, and upload the scanned tests in any of the following formats:
18
Administering Tests… Once the tests are uploaded, the test page appears again, and information regarding the uploaded test is displayed, such as individual and average percentages. Remark also put a notifications next to students who had exceptions on their test, such as multiple answers filled in or missing answers. 18
19
Reviewing and Analyzing Data… Click a notification or the Review Data link to look over the answers and check exceptions. Begin to review by clicking on the arrow right of exceptions in the snapshot window. This action displays your first exception to review. 19
20
Reviewing and Analyzing Data… The following are the two exceptions from this scan: 20 To fix the scan so that it shows the correct data, click to select and deselect the bubbles in the tests data window.
21
Reviewing and Analyzing Data… In Debra’s case, she corrected her answer for question 7. As a result, option E was deselected. Now that the reviewing is complete, click the Save link, and continue through the Reports link. 21
22
Analyzing Data… Remark offers nine different reports for evaluation and analysis. Within the Reports screen, click any of the names of the reports to view as a PDF. You may also save them from the viewer. View and combine multiple reports by checking the boxes next to each report you want, and click the View Reports link. Similarly, you can click the Email Me link to send the files to your email directly. You can also email students their individual reports if you have student email addresses in the system. The reports cover a variety of topics, such as student and class performance, and question breakdowns, identifying the easiest and hardest questions. 22
23
Analyzing Data… On the test page, click the Export Data link to download or email to yourself the data in one of many possible formats, including.CSV and.XLSX (Excel). To export the grades to a gradebook, click the Export Gradebook link, and select either the program of choice if available, or the file type used by your gradebook (such as CSV). Email or download the file to import it into your gradebook. 23
