3 Picking the right area for your practice What’s the local population? How many other physio’s are within the area? What’s the demographic? What services does the competition offer? What does the competition charge for treatments?

4 Before you start… things to consider Are you suited to working in private practice??? Have clear business objectives: What sales do you hope to achieve after 6 months, 12 months 2 years etc? What level of finance do you intend to invest / can you afford to invest? What will be the sources of your funding? – Savings, business loan etc How much will the initial set up cost???

8 Marketing your clinic Be Innovative and forward thinking (What can I do that the competition hasn’t?) Know your target market Business Listings – Yell, Thomson local etc Website Flyers & Posters – Get active hand deliver! Display stands within your clinic Local Newspaper Ad’s / Regional advertising, Supermarkets Networking e.g make contact with local sports teams etc Notice board advertising PR – submit newsworthy stories to local press Social Media (facebook, twitter) Building a relationship with local GP’s, etc

Simple answer – whatever your patients are willing to pay and whatever you feel is a fair price for the product you are offering. Varies from area to area.
