3 The Podiatry Board of Australia develops policies, codes and guidelines to guide podiatrists in appropriate professional conduct and practice. Two relevant documents are:  Code of Conduct  Guidelines on Clinical Records These documents are used as a reference by DVA when auditing podiatrists. 5 HIGH RISK FOOT PROJECT DVA guidelines to claim for Diabetes Neuro-Vascular assessments Currently there are no item codes to claim for this comprehensive assessment. RECOMMENDATION:  Claim the vascular component F104* - no Prior Approval (PA) required fee $66.75  Submit PA for the neurological component F985 Non-DVA Schedule Service (at std. consult fee $63.30) Set up a master form to insert individual client details for each PA request include: medical history, current signs & symptoms, risk status from previous DNV, what type of assessment you are proposing to conduct, an outline of how this will impact your treatment and ongoing management. * be sure to follow DVA & Best Practice guidelines for recording, content and frequency

Updated Nov 2015  PA no longer required for Ready Made MGF  PA still required for custom, recreational and white card holders AIDS & APPLIANCES through RAP  Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP) use form D0992 Mobility & Functional Support direct order form  Moon Boots, Pneumatic Walkers etc. AR01 Ankle support/brace  Richie Brace AR19 Ankle Foot Orthosis
