EI Colorado Technical Assistance Call CAPTA Referrals SSIP Phase II Evaluation Activities State Updates January 14, 2016

AGENDA 2  CAPTA  Referral Process Change  Work Group  SSIP Phase II Evaluation Activities  Message from New EI Program Director  State Updates & Reminders

CAPTA Referrals 3  The EI program reports monthly through the CDHS C- Stat process on the percent of children referred through CAPTA who complete the EI eligibility process  The data does not include those children who do not appear in the CCB data as referrals  Several methods have been tried to ensure CAPTA referrals are made to, and received by, the CCBs  There has been a slight increase in the number of referrals made by Child Welfare that are documented as received in the EI data system(s) (DDDWeb,UNICORN)

CAPTA Referrals 4  Percent found through match averages around 70%  Adjusting for a small percentage of mismatches in name spellings, DOB, it would be expected that 95% of referrals from TRAILS would be documented in the EI data system as received by the CCB  CCB staff have expressed the desire to have CAPTA referrals spread out over a longer period of time vs lists that span 2-4 weeks  TRAILS has been updated to allow case workers to directly email referrals to the appropriate CCB beginning 1/13/16

CAPTA Referrals 5  Referrals should be entered into the EI data system as soon as they are received – the 45 day timeline for MDA and initial IFSP meeting begins as soon as referral is received by CCB  Matches will be conducted at the end of each month to determine success of new process  Individual technical assistance will be provided as needed for CCBs that show less than expected number of referrals documented as received
