After the test of the first MAB (prototype) 6 units are to be produced by September 2003 and the rest by March 2004. MAB: The tender procedure for the production of the MABs is finished. Z-bar: The design started (H. Gerwig). It is much-much simpler than the MABs.

It checks the Functionality, Sensitivity of the pixels (average, sigma), Pixels with significant deviation. Sensor + driver: Lens-part: Lenses are ordered: Chamber and z: f=30mm, diam.=10mm, 600 pieces Diagonal:f=70mm, diam.=12mm, 150 pieces. Total cost: ~22 kCHF. Mechanics (holder) for both: Design to be finalized together with Hubert. Working…. Fabrication is organized (HEPHY, Vienna). 22 mm The assembly of the full quantity (~750 pieces) is ready (Debrecen, Budapest). Sensor quality control facility (Debrecen):

Fork calibration (8 Apr 2003): 200 (out of 1050) are calibrated. (See separate talk about the details) Fork delivery schedule: - 120 forks are already at CERN - Next 80 by 15 May 2003 - Next 300 by 15 September 2003 - Last 450 by 15 March 2004 Other LED holders (diagonal, z): under design (H. Gerwig).

About the details of the first experience see separate talk. The main problems: - handling of the feet - cabling
