3 Who can register to vote in Alameda County? You may register to vote if you meet ALL of the following criteria: – A citizen of the United States – A resident of California – At least 18 years of age by Nov. 8, 2016 – Not in prison or on parole for a felony – Not declared mentally incompetent by a court

4 How can I register to vote? You may register to vote: – By Internet: Voter Registration FormVoter Registration Form – By mail: Mail-in registration forms are available at most County buildings, post offices, libraries, and the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) offices. – In person: At the Alameda County Registrar of Voters' Office (1225 Fallon Street, Room G-1, Oakland, CA 94612) and Hayward City Hall.

5 When can I register to vote? There is no waiting period. You may register or re-register to vote at any time. To be eligible to vote in an election, you must have registered 15 days prior to the election.

6 What happens when I go to college? Can I register with my college residence address, or my family residence? Either. Any student may register to vote using his/her college residence address or family residence. If you attend college away from home and are unable to be at the polls on election day, you must register to vote by absentee ballot.

10 Earn $ While You Learn The High School Poll Worker Program promotes civic awareness and educates students about the election process on Election Day. Students will receive training and gain "hands- on" experience and learn the significance of the democratic process.

11 Who’s Eligible? U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) 16+ on or before Election Day (Nov. 8, 2016) 2.5 GPA out of a 4.0

12 Student Poll Worker Benefits $95 for Election Day $15 for 2 hour mandatory training class $10 extra for Bilingual Student Workers who are fluent in one of the following languages (Cantonese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese) and work at a Polling Precinct where voters whose primary language is not English, on Election Day $5 for passing the optional online training (If you work on Election Day) Get job experience for your resume and college application Community Service Hours Learn how our electoral process really works Receive Election training from professionals in the field One month prior to Election Day, mandatory training is provided Monday - Friday (and some weekends), with numerous training classes located throughout the County.
