France 2015 The main focus is to enjoy the French culture, language and history. All school staff have the ability to speak French. We are with a French leader while we are there, who will constantly speak in French. We will be working with the children nearer the time to prepare them to get the most out of the experience and we will give them a basic vocabulary list once we receive passports.

HEALTH & SAFETY We strongly recommend that all children take a travel sickness tablet before travelling. We also recommend that you supply a travel sickness tablet for your child to take on the return journey. We will be taking a supply of general everyday medication with us (anti-histamine, plasters, calpol, paracetamol, sun cream) and we will be asking for your consent to administer it should the need arise nearer the time. Miss Elliott is a qualified first aider and the company will also provide first aid. We will be covered by the Local Authority’s insurance Policy but an Ehic is needed in case of emergency. Please remember to make sure children carry inhalers if Needed.

TRAVELLING The journey down will be exciting but we will be encouraging children to sleep. Children will need to bring a packed breakfast, to be carried on to the bus, separately from their luggage, to include a drink (not fizzy). We will provide food for the remainder of the journey. Children are not allowed to bring mobile phones. Other electrical devices, such as DS or ipods are fine but are the responsibility of the child as school cannot accept any responsibility for damage or theft of these items. (Remember to pack chargers!) Cameras are fine. We will be taking photographs also. Please put names on everything. Children may bring £20 (only!) in English money in case of delay in both directions (to be handed to group leader)

Things to do now Passport - we will copy and return for now Ehic card available via internet Make payments – we need half to be paid by 19 th December and the remainder by the end of February. Kit list will be out soon Start thinking about suitable, sensible clothes (layers) – No aerosol sprays please and no make up!

Keeping in touch Social network will be used to keep you posted about the trip. We probably won’t be able to respond to messages you put on. Any emergency contact will need to be made via the school office. We will use teachers2parents to pass information to you about expected arrival back at school.
