Lesson 2: Framing Your Shot “Framing is the technique of drawing attention to the subject of your image by blocking other parts of the image with something in the scene.” (Rowse) O Tells the viewer something about the setting O Adds dimension O Draws viewer’s eye to a specific spot O Creates a sense of mystery

O The “frame” does not need to go around all four sides; just one or two edges will create the effect. O Will it add something interesting to the shot? When in doubt, include it. You can always crop it afterward. Things to Keep in Mind
