4. What is the purpose of sport? The purpose of the competition is not who will win the contest and potentially experience the related drama, but who, if anyone, will encounter a good test and thus have opportunities to advance their narrative or story. It is the test that allows athletes to experience the interesting, uncertainty-producing opposition. It is the test that must fit each competitor's skills, if he/she is to be stretched and challenged.

5. Testing.. If the test is worthy, athletes will more than likely live past events …to future possibilities. Without a valid and durable test there can be no practice and thus no sport excellences to display.
