4 Children and Young People’s Services Committees (CYPSCs) are a key structure identified by Government to plan and co-ordinate services for children and young people in every county in Ireland.  The overall purpose is to improve outcomes for children and young people, 0 to 24 years, through local and national interagency working.  This will be achieved through enhanced planning, co- ordination and oversight of policy implementation, planning and service provision locally.  CYPSCs act as the structure whereby services work together to achieve shared goals and bridge national policy with local provision.

6 A three year plan called the Children and Young People’s Plan has to be developed by each CYPSC in their county The age profile is 0 – 24 years This plan should be prepared in consultation with children and young people. A mechanism for this is through consultation with Comhairle na nÓg.
