Intervention Extra support to help our students achieve their best!

What is Intervention? We are very lucky at Beacy to have 2 highly experienced teachers working with staff and children in the Grade 5/6 level, to provide additional professional support. Our goal this year is to create high quality learning programs to support our teachers and students, to really make the best of our biggest intervention program ever.

Supporting Maths Groups Our Main Focus in the Intervention team is to provide - Targeted Teaching – Maths Groups Leading and supporting Maths groups is the number one priority. We have the advantage in having worked with many of these groups last year. We plan with the teachers for each year level, to ensure our sessions are meeting each student’s specific needs.

Supporting Literacy Groups Another Main Focus - Targeted Teaching - Guided reading: Guided reading is small-group reading instruction, designed to provide needs-based teaching to support our kids in developing reading and comprehension skills Other literacy support as needed throughout the year(eg; writing groups, spelling, grammar workshops, public speaking skills etc)
