INTRODUCTION VEHICLE MEANS ANY MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT USED FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF A PERSON / PEOPLE OR CARGO. INCLUDES CARS, TRUCKS, BUSES, SUV, OFF-ROAD VEHICLES THE DRIVER MUST HOLD A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AS ISSUED BY A CANADIAN PROVINCE A COPY OF THE VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE MUST BE GIVEN TO MANAGEMENT UPON HIRE OR BEFORE A NEW DRIVER STARTS IF A DRIVER HAS HIS/HER LICENSE SUSPENDED FOR ANY REASON, HE/SHE MUST INFORM MANAGEMENT IMMEDIATELY

VEHICLE CIRCLE CHECK VEHICLE CIRCLE CHECKS MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE DRIVER EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS USED VEHICLE LOG BOOK MUST BE FILLED OUT BEFORE DRIVING AWAY DRIVER MUST BE ABLE TO PRODUCE AND SHOW THE VEHICLE LOG BOOK IF REQUESTED SPARE TIRE, SPILL KIT, FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND FIRST AID KIT MUST BE PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES BEACON LIGHT AND TAIL WHIP LIGHT MUST BE IN OPERATION REPORT ALL DEFECTS OR DAMAGE TO THE TEAM LEAD OR MANAGER

VEHICLE CIRCLE CHECK: UNSAFE VEHICLE IF DURING THE CIRCLE CHECK A VEHICLE IS DEEMED TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE, THE PERSON DOING THE CIRCLE CHECK IS TO REMOVE THE KEYS TO THE VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY HAND THE KEYS TO THE TEAM LEAD OR TO MANAGEMENT A “DO NOT OPERATE” SIGN WILL BE POSTED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, IN AN AREA THAT IS VISIBLE DETAILING THE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. DATE AND NAME OF TEAM LEAD – MANAGER WHO HAS THE VEHICLE KEYS MUST BE INCLUDED ON THE SIGNAGE IT IS THE DRIVER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE VEHICLE IS CLEAN AND IN GOOD OPERATING CONDITION BEFORE AND AFTER OPERATING THE VEHICLE

BEFORE THE VEHICLE MOVES: SEAT BELTS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES IT IS THE DRIVER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE HIS/HER PASSENGERS ARE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN IF SOMEONE IS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT. IT IS EACH PERSON’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEY ARE WEARING A SEAT BELT. ENSURE MIRRORS AND SEAT ARE PROPERLY ADJUSTED BEFORE DRIVING VEHICLE. NO SMOKING IN THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES

DRIVING ON SITE THE DRIVER MUST BE IN CONTROL OF THEIR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. DRIVE ACCORDING TO WEATHER/ROAD CONDITIONS. OBEY ALL POSTED SPEED LIMITS. HAUL ROADS ARE STRICTLY OFF LIMITS UNLESS HAUL ROAD TRAINING IS DONE AND VEHICLE IS EQUIPED WITH THE PROPER RADIO. BEEP THE HORN ONCE BEFORE DRIVING FORWARD* BEEP THE HORN TWICE BEFORE REVERSING THE VEHICLE* ALL VEHICLES ARE TO BE BACKED INTO A PARKING SPOT. NO “NOSE FIRST” PARKING. *AS PER SITE RULES IF APPLICABLE

FUEL DEPOT HARD HAT, SAFETY GLASSES, SAFETY TOE BOOTS (CSA) AND GLOVES ARE REQUIRED TO REFUEL VEHICLES 1.GET KEY FOB FROM THE TEAM LEAD OR MANAGER 2.DRIVE TO FUEL DEPOT 3.ENSURE SPILL CONTAINER IS UNDER FUEL NOZZLE 4.FILL FUEL TANK. DO NOT OVER FILL 5.REPLACE NOZZLE WHEN FINISHED 6.REMOVE SPILL CONTAINER 7.WRITE TOTAL LITERS OF FUEL ADDED TO DAILY CIRCLE CHECK FORM

CARRYING PASSENGERS AND CARGO DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFE PICK-UP, TRANSPORTATION AND DELIVERY OF PEOPLE AND CARGO IT IS THE DRIVER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE ALL CARGO IS TIED DOWN AND SECURE PRIOR TO DRIVING THE VEHICLE DRIVERS ARE PROHIBITED FROM TRANSPORTING ANY CARGO DEEMED TO BE DANGEROUS AS PER THE TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS ACT

CARRYING PASSENGERS AND CARGO PART 2 DRIVERS MUST DROP OFF ALL PASSENGERS AT THE DESIGNATED DROP OFF POINTS. IN BAD WEATHER, DRIVERS WILL DROP PASSENGERS OFF AT THE NEAREST ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING ALL VEHICLES MUST BE PARKED IN A DESIGNATED PARKING LOT THE IDLING OF VEHICLES WILL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM. NO VEHICLE WILL BE ALLOWED TO IDLE FOR LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES

VEHICLE SAFETY: OFF-SITE DRIVING NO VEHICLE WILL LEAVE THE SITE WITHOUT PERMISSION BY MANAGEMENT EMERGENCY KITS WILL BE PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO LEAVING SITE. THIS WILL INCLUDE FOOD, WATER, BLANKETS AND A FLASHLIGHT. THIS WILL BE REMOVED ONCE THE VEHICLE RETURNS TO SITE
