Brainstorming To begin constructing your how-to, you must first brainstorm at least ten to fifteen topic Ideas. Ex. How to play football, basketball, soccer, pool, etc. How to make a kite, boat, shirt, go-cart, slingshot, game etc.

Narrowing Down After gathering possible topics then you must narrow them down to about two. Then keep an extra topic as a back up if needed. Ex. How to make a kite or how to play pool (backup is how to make a slingshot).

Research After narrowing down your topics you must research both of them and then make your final decision.

Gathering Graphics Then you must gather graphics or pictures related to your topic.

Organization Begin to organize your information as well as your graphics

Edit and Check After completing your organization you must construct a rough draft and then edit and check over your work twice.

Making Sense Follow the instructions that you gave and see if they make enough sense that a 6 year-old would be able understand it. (Test It)

Adjusting Make final adjustments to your rough draft to make it a final draft.

Finished Publish your how-to ( or turn it into your teacher).
