9 LET’S RECAP! THE HEADLINE THE SUBTITLE JOURNALIST(S) / DATE FIRST PARAGRAPH SECOND PARAGRAPH ARTICLE LAST PARAGRAPH Introduces the content of the article. Summarises the content of the article with basic details. Gives the name(s) of the journalist(s) and date of publication of the article. Introduces the main elements of the story (who, what, where, when). Gives a reminder of who the person is or what the situation is. Contains: a different idea or viewpoint per paragraph examples quotations from different people Contains: the journalist’s conclusion the journalist’s opinion

10 CHECKLIST Check that you have used: the preterit as your narrative tense. complex sentences. link-words, adverbs and adverbial phrases.

12 NEWS REPORT ON YOUR OWN How is a news report presented?  by the anchorman/woman?  by the reporter? Define your roles and prepare your news report.

13 LET’S RECAP! The anchorman/woman:  presents the event (where, when, who).  presents the main facts (what).  introduces the reporter (who, where).  concludes at the end of the report (what next). The reporter:  presents the current state of events.  presents the chronology of events in detail.  concludes his/her report.

14 YOUR VOTES Things you should write on your ballot paper: the headline of your favourite report. a quick summary of the story. what you liked in the story (with details).
