He was born in Denmark (丹麥) in 1805. Andersen was very (1) in arts when he was a little boy. At the age of fourteen, he left his hometown and started a new life as a singer, a dancer, and an actor (演員) in a big city. However, he wasn’t (2) at first and became very poor. Later in his life, Andersen was (3) a lot of money from a rich person and he used the money to go to university (大學) and (4) the world of writing. Andersen’s first book of fairy tales was published in 1835. This book (5) well, so he kept writing stories. In his whole life, Andersen wrote 168 fairy tales before he died in 1875.
