5 Open Badges are an online method of accreditation to reward the extra-curricular activities which a number of our students take part in throughout their time at the college.

6 Our fitness gyms are full equipped with all the latest in gym technology. We have gyms available at Alloa, Falkirk and Stirling. We have on offer a wide range of facilities, that range from: Cardiovascular and resistance machines Fitness testing facilities Personal programmes Fitness classes Membership Costs: An annual membership will allow you to access all three fitness suites and take advantage of a range of fitness classes. 8 Participate in your Class Representative Training Communicate with your Curriculum Manager Participate in and support two L2L Focus Groups (1 per block) Attend or contribute at Student Council Meetings Communicate and promote Student Association events with your classmates Provide support and signpost students where necessary You will be given notification for each of the above by the Student Association or by your Curriculum Manager

9 Twice a year each class will be invited by your Curriculum Manager to a “Listening to Learners” Focus group. Your role as Class Representative will be to help the Curriculum Manager with the “Listening to Learners” Focus Group Speak to students in your class and build up a general picture of what they think of the course. You can prepare before hand by showing the group the list of questions This gives you the opportunity to discuss the teaching and learning approaches, the use of resources i.e. materials, equipment, IT and accommodation and any other suggestions that have an impact on a positive learning experience for you.

12 Class Reps are not expected to have special expertise or provide one to one advice to other students particularly if it’s a personal problem. However, you can still access the site at anytime without doing this. We’ll also send you e-zines on a monthly basis with links to featured articles

26 How do I become a contributor? Register as a subscriber and then email the team at fusion@forthvalley.ac.uk fusion@forthvalley.ac.uk We’ll then set you up a contributor account and profile for the site and you can upload articles for review by the editorial team Alternatively, you can also email articles directly to the team and we’ll upload them for you.

27 What would I need to do? Write as many articles as you like! You can submit one off articles if there’s something you’re really passionate about or you can become a regular contributor. Attend monthly editorial meetings if possible – however this isn’t necessary. You can put forward your own ideas or write articles based on suggestions from the editorial team.

28 Incentive Scheme Student writers will receive 1 credit for every article published on ‘Fusion’ over the academic year Gifts will be allocated as follows: – 3 credits = £10 book voucher – 5 credits = £25 i-tunes voucher – 10+ credits = £50 Love2shop Voucher
