1 Teacher Guide This lesson is designed to teach kids to ask a critical thinking question that you can’t just put into a search box to solve. To do that, we encourage them with smaller questions that search can help them answer. Make sure that you read the notes for each slide: they not only give you teaching tips but also provide answers and hints so you can help the kids if they are having trouble. Remember, you can always send feedback to the Bing in the Classroom team at BingInTheClassroom@Microsoft.com. You can learn more about the program at bing.com/classroom and follow the daily lessons on our Partners In Learning site. 3 Mention Whistler in British Columbia, Canada, and most people will picture the ski resort or the titular village that hosts the resort. But it’s the mountain itself that first drew people here. Initially, European settlers named the peak London Mountain, for a mining claim. But when the ski resort was founded in the 1960s, the more whimsical name – Whistler – was adopted as a nod to the mountain’s population of marmots, aka whistle pigs. Marmots have a whistling call that can often be heard by hikers on the mountain. Utilize technology to plan out a ski vacation to Whistler.
