Teacher Slide-Please Read  This week, students will try to download their Junior Portfolio documents from your SWIFT site and upload them to their OneDrive and or WinHome so they may work on them throughout the semester.  Teachers: Please create a Seminar tab on your SWIFT page and upload the documents attached to the email so that your students may download them. The documents for Junior Portfolio include: -Junior Seminar Checklist-SMART Goals Template -Letter of Recommendation request form-Resume Template -Personal Statement Template-SLC Template-Cover letter template IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DO THIS PLEASE SEND STUDENTS TO EITHER IVERSON’S OR LETOURNEAU’S WEBSITES  Students will complete a Seminar Check Up grade form this week as well.  Students will also continue to work on their PSAT practice booklets 15 minutes each period, preferably the start.  The following slides take students through the options to download and save their Junior Portfolio documents.  We understand that not everyone has a class set of computers. These are easier if done in small batches so that you can assist students with them. Once you are successful at it they will go quicker. Please let us know if you have zero access to computers as we may be able to find a spot for you to visit.  The reason we would like these downloaded all at once is so that they will be in the students’ possession and we will be able to more quickly finish these assignments in future Seminar lessons instead of constantly re-downloading each week.

Please continue to remind them daily of this date.  Collect and grade any and all late work as it comes in. 9. Portfolio Preparation Options Step 1: Save to your WinHome Benefit: It’s familiar if you have used WinHome. Downside: You can only work on it at a school computer. 1.Log on to WinHome. 2.Visit your teacher’s SWIFT Site and go to the document Tab (or Iverson’s or Letourneau’s sites). 3. Download the Junior Portfolio documents and save To you WinHome folder.

10. Portfolio Preparation Options Step 2: Save to your OneDrive Benefits: Work on your portfolio ANYWHERE you have an internet connection. Save all of your documents with unlimited space. 1.Visit your teacher’s SWIFT Site. 2.Download the Junior Portfolio documents to you winhome. 3.Then, visit www.tacomaschools.orgwww.tacomaschools.org 4.Select “Students” 5.Select “Login to O365” 6.Login: Username is your student number: ####### Password: tps (unless you changed it) 7.Then, go to “OneDrive” and upload your documents from your Winhome folder.

11. Portfolio Preparation Options Optional step 3: Print and complete documents by hand (only if steps 1 and 2 are not possible). Benefit: Low tech in case of extreme difficulties with technology. Downsides: Wastes paper! Difficult to edit! Handwritten documents are not often professional. Your employer/college won’t take handwritten resumes, cover letters, or other important documents so these should be typed. 1.Visit your teacher’s SWIFT Site. 2.Download the Junior Portfolio documents. 3.Then, print them all and put them in your Junior Portfolio binder.

12. Seminar Check Up (Due 10/13!) Complete your Seminar Check Up Form. Show the completed form to your Seminar teacher by 10/13 for a FORMATIVE (complete/incomplete) grade. Save your check up form in your Seminar binder.

13. EXIT SLIP (Due 10/20!) Save your Junior Portfolio documents. You must have the following saved to your OneDrive, WinHome, OR binder: Junior Seminar Checklist SMART Goals Template Letter of Recommendation Request Form Personal Statement Template Cover Letter Template Resume Template SLC Template Show the saved documents to your Seminar teacher by 10/20 for a FORMATIVE (complete/incomplete) grade.
