Juniors-Monday September 12 th Do you think that citizens have the right to stay seated during the pledge and national anthem? Explain and justify your opinion. (7) Agenda Students will divide into their reading groups for this unit of Song of Myself. They will either read Fahrenheit 451 or A Separate Peace and work on guided reading assignment. Once reading time is over with their homogenous group, they will report their experience and knowledge with their hetero-group. Compare and contrast differences in each text. (7) Agenda Turn and talk to your neighbor(s) about Fahrenheit 451. Describe one character. Students will read Fahrenheit 451- as a class- I will model notes. On your own paper, answer the following, then discuss it with your team members and write down a short summary of your counterpart’s thoughts: Identify Montag’s point of view and explain how Clarisse is changing this.

RL 10.2` Create a modern day remake of Oedipus Rex to preform to the class. It must be at least 50 lines with all major character representations included. Rubric given. In your group, discuss the issues of today’s society (kind of like yesterday’s journal). Talk about things that you would like to see change and what you are capable of doing about it.
