2 Focus Rule Words: 1) separating (separat [-e] + ing) 2) concentrating (concentrat [-e] + ing) 3) refuting (refut [-e] + ing) 4) investigating (investigat [-e] + ing) 5) experiencing (experienc [-e] + ing)

3 Academic Verbs: 6) proceed to go forth Let’s proceed in the investigation. 7) precede to come before Chapter one precedes chapter two. 8) apply to put something into effect, to have relevance See if that rule applies.
