2. Vieques is located 8 miles off the eastern shore of Puerto Rico. In the 1940s, the US military took over Vieques to use it as a practice base. This caused most of the civilians to lose their jobs and move out of Vieques. In 2003, the military left. Now, the people of Vieques feel free again. Tourism is becoming very popular.

3. Why I Chose Vieques Vieques is one of my favorite places in the world because of it’s untouched beauty. I want to share this special island and it’s unique history. Inform people of a great vacation place.

4. What I Did I used my knowledge of the island and online sources to find historical and tourism information. I used pictures of my own and off the internet to display the beauty of Vieques. I got to practice the skills I have learned in this class to develop this site.

5. Problems I Encountered I had a hard time finding information and pictures online because the island does not have many websites. I had a hard time finding an applet that was relevant to my topic. My computer wouldn’t open SharePoint so I had to borrow other people’s computers.
