5 CK1114AW Where do the 4 Strategic Priorities Come From? The Evidence: –We have collated an extensive context statement drawn from a wide variety of sources to determine the major challenges facing the area in the years ahead –Initial but limited community consultation –Professional input –2 x Board workshops to consider the wide range issues & challenges and identify the most important of these, which we need to give priority to

6 CK1114AW Workshop Outline National & local context Challenges facing Falkirk – Workshop 1 What needs to significantly change / be done differently? Workshop 2 Feedback / challenges – Workshop 3

7 CK1114AW The Tests for a Strategic Priority Can we understand and describe the issues clearly & succinctly? Is this of particular concern to our communities and stakeholders? Is there something externally which requires us to do something differently? Is this a collective responsibility for achieving change?

8 CK1114AW Next Steps Each priority will be taken forward by an existing or emerging group The task will be to complete the drafting of the priority within the following framework: –Why is this a priority & why is it of strategic importance to our area? –What challenges are anticipated over the 5-year lifetime of the plan? –Influences – things that will impact positively or negatively in addressing this priority –What needs to change? –What specific issues need to be focused to achieve the necessary identified changes?
