Tag – I’m It Jon Jasken
2
Identify the Problem or Ask your question I like playing tag at recess, but I don’t like being “it”. Sometimes I am tagged a lot and sometimes I never get tagged. I wonder if the kind of shoe I’m wearing makes me faster.
3
Hypothesis I think I will run faster in my Reeboks because they are tighter on my foot.
4
Plan and Organize My Experiment I have 3 pairs of shoes that I usually wear to school; Rebooks, dress shoes, and sandals. I am going to run from the front of my house to the back wearing each shoe and have my mom time me. I am going to run with each shoe 3 times. I am also going to give myself a break between each running so I am not tired. The variable is the type of shoe, so I will keep everything else the same.
5
Organize and Analyze Data I took the three times for each shoe and found the average for each. Then I used Excel to create a bar graph with the information.

Reebok 16 sec 14 sec 12 sec Dress shoe 16 sec 14 sec Sandal 21 sec 25 sec 23 sec

Conclusions The sandals were the slowest type of shoe. I think this is because they kept flopping around on my feet when I was running. I was faster in the Reeboks but not by much. I don’t think I can say that I am always faster in my Reeboks because the times were so close, but I know that I will be easier to tag if I am wearing my sandals.
