The French Revolution marked the beginning of the end of the Age of Reason Violence in France & a variety of other forms of chaos demonstrated that Enlightenment principles were not yet practical Nonetheless the ideas of the era propelled science forward, broke American colonies from Britain, allowed citizens to have conversations about their nation and world events, & gave everyone then and now wonderful works of literature. The Enlightenment paved the way for the modern world
